I have been holding this news in for 2 weeks now and it is finally time to let everyone know that I am headed to the mothership and joining VMware! My first day will be May 21st, 2018 and I cannot wait to get started.
I will not lie, it is a bittersweet feeling. Walking away from a good job is not an easy task or easy decision to make. Having an opportunity like this was something I could not pass up. The Solutions Architect role that I have held over the past 5 years at Continental Resources (ConRes) was an amazing one that propelled my career to the next level and got me to go down the path that I wanted my career to take. I have worked with some great people over these years and forged some great relationships. I will miss working alongside a lot of people, both co-workers and customers. Great folks everywhere and I wish them nothing but the best of luck and continued success.
I started ConRes in April of 2013 as an HPE Solutions Architect and soon after I started wearing the Virtualization Architect hat for them as well. I had heavy experience with VMware prior to joining the organization so I was looking forward to taking the bull by the horns and use this opportunity to help the company grow and become more strategic and successful as both a VMware and HPE partner.
The role put me in front of hundreds of organizations to help them solve business related problems related to their virtualization, server/storage transitions, private/public cloud journey’s and so on. Together we accomplished great things for some awesome customers and helped them “get over the hump” when it came to dealing with various challenges in their IT environments. Those successful accomplishments are something I look forward to carrying over at VMware.
The biggest highlight of my time at ConRes happened when I earned my VMware Certified Design Expert (VCDX-DCV) in November of 2016. Wow, what a journey that was! It’s one of those moments in your career that is hard to put into words sometimes. It was an incredible experience from start to finish. It elevated my career in many ways; not just with my customers but also getting involved more in the VMware Community. I wanted to become more of my own brand so I started my blog soon after and also became a VMUG leader in January 2017. Things started happening fast after I earned my VCDX and I am very thankful to ConRes for helping me get there.
Working for VMware is going to be an amazing ride! I am joining the company with the industry leading server virtualization platform. They continue to grow year after year and introduce new and exciting technology. Lead by CEO Pat Gelsinger, last year was a record year for VMware and the organization is positioned for substantial growth and success for the years to come. I am extremely excited to be joining this team!
So what will I be doing for VMware? My official role is ‘Solutions Engineer’ and will be supporting enterprise accounts in the Philadelphia, PA metropolitan region of the United States. I am looking forward to seeing some familiar faces in some places and establishing new professional relationships in others. I cannot wait to get in front of everyone and start working with them day in and day out.
It is going to be a tremendous experience working for VMware!
Congratulations on your participation in vmware. This company is also my dream.
